Seven Years

On July 9th, 2005, I wrote my 1st blog.  Now seven years has passed, I am still writing blogs.  It is very sad that I loss nearly 5 years of blog record.  But anyhow, my interest of recording and sharing my thought does not drop, the idea of new topics is running out though.  So, I am thinking to review some of blogs I wrote before, then comment on what I said at the time and I blog about some new thought.  Let's start with the 1st blog I wrote.

I talked about DFM, commented that "A couple years down the road, it will be interesting to see how many can survive".  Sever years after, turn out not many DFM tool companies can survive.  In fact, not many EDA companies can survive either.  The big-3 and ARM, now rule the IC tools and IP market.

For the second topic in my 1st blog, I commented "outsourcing is a one-way street for tech jobs".  This is still true.  But on the optimistic side, the situation is stabilize.  So for those engineers who are able to find a valuable role in the technology industry, I think the future is still quite bright.
